Liverpools legendarer läxade upp Manchester Uniteds diton på andra sidan jordklotet.

Denna inofficiella legendmatch avgjordes lite i skymundan för ett par dagar sedan i Kuala Lumpur. Drygt 10 000 malaysier hade sökt sig till regnrusket på nationalarenan Bukit Jalil för att se vilket lag som skulle erövra titeln "Battle of Reds".

Och såklart var det Liverpool som visade sig vara det starkare laget.

Djibril Cissé stal showen med sitt hattrick (vilket inkluderar två straffar) i den 16:e, 44:e och 51:a minuten. Florent Sinama-Pongolle fastställde slutresultatet till 4-2 i den 76:e.

Uniteds lyckades visserligen kvittera till både 1-1 (Dimitar Berbatov) och 2-2 (Danny Webber) innan paus, men hade ingen chans i andra akten.

David James var spelande manager för Liverpool Reds och hade sällskap av Luis Garcia (kapten), Emile Heskey, Glen Johnson, John Arne Riise, Patrik Berger, Vladimir Smicer, Steve McManaman, Jason McAteer, Florent Sinama-Pongolle, John Durnin, David Thompson, Jermaine Pennant, Djibril Cisse och Phil Babb.

Manchester United Reds leddes av Dwight Yorke som hade med sig Teddy Sheringham (kapten), David May, Wes Brown, Clayton Blackmore, Keith Gillespie, Ben Thornley, Eric Djemba Djemba, Paul Rachubka, Russell Beardsmore, Lee Martin, Danny Webber, Mikael Silvestre, Quinton Fortune, Dimitar Berbatov, Erik Nevland och Dion Dublin.
